Adventure to "Treasure Island", Courtesy of Grade 8 Class of 2024!

The set is designed, the costumes have arrived, and the actors are rehearsing and getting into character in every moment with every step! The excitement for the Grade 8 play, Treasure Island, has been building momentously as we have been enjoying seeing the growth of the beautiful, artistic masterpiece custom made set come to life since the beginning of the term, and hearing our favourite guest director, Yo Mustafa, transform the students into colourful characters of pirates, sailors, and more!


Join us for any or all of the three public performances on May 3, 4, and 5, 2024 for an adventure that's not to be missed!

Treasure Island was written by Robert Louis Stevenson in 1881. It became an instant classic.


Get ready to sail with us now on a captivating journey as we delve into the heart of this timeless tale.


Treasure Island follows the courageous young Jim Hawkins. He is given a mysterious treasure map from his friend - an old pirate by the name of Billy Bones. Fuelled by curiosity and a thirst for adventure, Jim and his friends set out on a perilous voyage to uncover the fabled riches buried on a distant island.


But, the journey is fraught with danger as Jim encounters a colourful cast of characters including the treacherous Long John Silver. This one-legged pirate with a silver tongue has a penchant for deceit. As alliances shift and betrayals loom, Jim must navigate a sea of uncertainty to distinguish friend from foe and secure the treasure.


Treasure Island explores themes of loyalty, bravery, courage and fear. Overall, it explores the enduring power of friendship in the face of adversity.


So, prepare to embark on an unforgettable voyage filled with danger, intrigue and the promise of untold riches. Welcome to Treasure Island where adventure awaits at every turn!
