Inclement Weather Policy:

Our severe weather policy calls for our designated Inclement Weather Committee to monitor the weather during times of expected heavy snowfall or freezing rain. We look at how the weather affects the safety of our families and faculty travelling to school and the potential impact made by inclement weather during our pick-up times.

In deciding whether to have a snow day, our school considers advice from Environment Canada. Our decision reflects the judgements made by the Halton School Board. As a school, we are responsible for ensuring our community's safety. The call for a weather-related school closure will be based on ice, snowfall, snow accumulation, extreme cold, blowing wind, and road conditions.

We recognize that many of our families live outside the Burlington community and that different areas will be affected uniquely during winter storms – we encourage our families to use their good judgment as to whether or not they bring their children to school on inclement weather days when the school remains open.

The school will alert faculty and families of weather-related school closures by 6:40 am via email, Facebook and Instagram.
In the case of a weather-related school closer, remote learning will not be offered.

It is a regular school day if no announcement is made by 6:40 am.
