Child development as viewed in the context of Waldorf education is in some ways strikingly different from the mainstream view. The German Association of Waldorf Schools assembled a team of experienced teachers, doctors, parents, and scholars to articulate this unique view of child development. This book offers the first two parts of a three-part study that describes children's growth from age three to age nine and the conditions needed to school children of these ages well. The book provides invaluable resources for renewing or deepening educational practices, answering the boring questions about education in our times. For Waldorf teachers and other teachers, the resources offered are helpful in developing new ideas for modern education, modern child development.
