Grade 7 Trip to Bancroft - February 2023

By Vidushi Uthappa, Grade 7 Student

This winter, I had the opportunity to go on a school trip to Bancroft, and it was an unforgettable experience. I went with my classmates and the trip was full of exciting activities. We arrived in Bancroft in the midst of winter, and the entire town was covered with a thick blanket of snow. The snow was about three feet deep and everywhere we looked, we saw a winter wonderland.

One of the highlights of the trip was the outdoor activities we got to experience. We had the opportunity to try tobogganing, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, dog sledding, luge-ing, and ice fishing. It was my first time trying many of these activities, and I was excited to try everything. The instructors were very patient with us and made sure we had a great time. The adrenaline rush from speeding down the hills and trying new things was exhilarating.

We camped at Cedar Ridge, which is a popular camping site located in the heart of Bancroft. The campsite was well equipped with everything we needed, and it was surrounded by trees and natural landscapes that added to the beauty of the place. The night sky was clear, and we could see millions of stars glittering above us. Sitting around the campfire, we told stories and played games that made the experience even more enjoyable.

Overall, my trip to Bancroft was a fantastic experience, and I would love to do it again. The trip was a great opportunity to bond with my classmates, explore a new place, and try new things. The beauty of the snow-covered landscape, the thrill of the outdoor activities, and the memories of our time together will stay with me forever. I am grateful to my school for organizing this trip and to the instructors who made it so much fun
