Rachelle Laurin-Borg

Rachelle joined us this year to teach French to our grade 1-5 students. Prior to this, Rachelle taught in the primary grades in the French catholic school board for 5 years where she began her career transition as a teacher.

Rachelle began her career as a geographic information systems analyst, supporting the work of scientists in the environmental research field for over eight years. It was exciting, challenging work that allowed her to travel all over North America. In 2007, Rachelle chose to leave her career to focus on raising her two sons Benjamin and Lucas.
Rachelle graduated from Trent University with an Honours B.Sc. in Biology and Geography, a Diploma in Geographic Information Systems technology, and later, a B.A. in Education from l’Université Laurentienne.

Rachelle’s passion and enthusiasm for learning is transferred to her students and it brings her great joy to share her francophone heritage with them. Most of her time after school hours is spent on the sidelines of a soccer pitch or at the finish line of a cross country race cheering on her boys.
