Birgit Fulda graduated from the College of Library Science in Berlin, Germany. She came to Canada in 1988 and started working for the Halton District School Board as a German language instructor. For 23 years she has enjoyed teaching German to children from kindergarten to grade eight as well as adult classes.
In 1999 Birgit began teaching the handwork curriculum at the Halton Waldorf School, educating children to create with needlework, knitting and crocheting. As a young child, Birgit learned to knit and to crochet and kept her passion for working with wool. It brings her great joy to inspire her students with new ideas for their lovely projects.
Birgit has been a member of the Oakville Association of knitting and crocheting for many years. She believes in life-long learning and has attended numerous seminars and workshops to study the Waldorf pedagogy.
